Women's Ministry is an important part of Grace Baptist. We as Women of grace meet together for Bible Study and prayer. We also focus on missions, including the Annie Armstrong Easter offiering, Georgia Barnette and Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Won't you join us?
Lottie Moon - the namesake of the international missions offering - has become something of a legend to us. But in her time Lottie was anything but an untouchable hero. In fact, she was like today's missionaries. She was a hard-working, deep-loving Southern Baptist who labored tirelessly so her people group could know Jesus. Throughout her career, Lottie Moon wrote numerous letters home, urging Southern Baptists to greater missions involvement and support. One of those letters triggered Southern Baptists' first Christmas offering for international missions - enough to send three new missionaries to China.
We ladies stay busy all year long and take on special projects as the needs arise. Each Christmas we prepare and deliver gift baskets to the shut-ins, and after Katrina we adopted a local school and gave book sacks filled with supplies for the children who had moved from storm devistated areas and wereattending school here in Baton Rouge.
